The lighthouse was built in 1849 on the northwestern cape of the island of Dugi otok, 20 NM from Zadar. Veli Rat, with its 40 m high tower above the single-story house, large paved yard and Sv Nikola Chapel, is ideal for romantic weddings. The apartment can be rented throughout the whole year. The apartment has heating.House pets are not allowed.The lighthouse water supply is provided by its own cistern, while electricity is provided by a generator.It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the Adriatic, surrounded by dense pine forests, splendid bays and pebble beaches.The places on the island of Dugi otok are well connected by roads so that the regular supply of provisions is possible. Fresh fish can, upon prior notification, be purchased from the lighthouse keeper.There are 2 wonderful pebble beaches near the lighthouse suitable for small children. Combination of a quiet holiday (the lighthouse lies away from inhabited places) and an active holiday (long walks, getting to know the inhabited places on the island). The possibility to rent a boat, price upon arrangement with the lighthouse keeper.Guests have 2 apartments at their disposal for 3 and 4 people.
