The Beautiful National Parks of Croatia

There are eight national parks in Croatia, all equally beautiful and ethereal: Risnjak, Brijuni, Plitvice Lakes, Sjeverni Velebit, Paklenica, Krka, Kornati and Mljet. The two oldest of the National Parks of Croatia are Paklenica and Plitvice Lakes. This shows significant dedication to the preservation of nature in this lovely country that also includes ten nature parks for the benefit of visitors and tourists. For those interested in national park systems, the National Parks of Croatia offer a chance to see nature at its finest.

The minute visitors enter Paklenica National Park, natural history surrounds them. In Paklenica, the flora and fauna are so breathtaking, a visitor feels propelled into an idyllic scene not even an artist could paint. Brijuni offers a view of a sea world as well as cultural and historical heritage dating back to the Stone Age. Kornati is a wonderland of reefs and islets and offers to those with an interest in ecology the opportunity to view it firsthand.

Mljet

Velebit is a mountain climbers delight as is Risnjak. And where there are mountains, there are caves for the spelunkers to find an adventure or two. Krka, Mljet and Plitvice Lakes are superb for their scenic value, a true scenic photographers delight. Although, a photographer with an interest in the animal and plant life in the National park of Croatia will find a treasure trove of delightful subjects.

The National Parks of Croatia also offer accommodations---one needs more than a day to visit all eight National Parks. The Nature Parks of Croatia are not to be missed either. Medvednica in autumn is a riot of colors no artist could capture on canvas. The Ucka Mountain range, designated a nature park, is the tallest on the bright sapphire blue Istrian Peninsula. Rising skyward, snow caps glisten beneath the sun with the sapphire blue of the peninsula contrasting the blue and emerald of the mountain crowned by a huge dome of blue sky.

Croatia's history endows this jewel-like country with a bedrock of beauty and heritage. But, it's National Parks, treasured and preserved, open a new vista for tourists looking to break away of routine travel.
