Pazin is an old historical town settled in the center of the Istrian inland. Buzet, the historical town which settled at the hill was built in the pre-history as the Fortification. The town survived through the long historical changes and periods. Welcome to the smallest town in the whole world settled in the heart of Istria, the Medieval town rised in the 11th century.
On the foundations of the old fortification, it was built the Hum Castle and from that day up till the 17th century is the f
ortress Castrum and has fortification structure. During the history, while the authorities and rulers where changing, they also built new castles and forts. At hat time, they haven't built anythiong out side the town walls, but from the inside have, and therewith organized life within the walls.
The most important places in side the town, are the Parish Church, Castle and Rector's Palace. Furthermore, the Castle was the center and residence of the various feudalists because its purpose was the defense system role.
After the Venetians conquered Hum and took over the governance, Hum experienced the revival of the art its self, art works, communal system, town responsibilities, and became the administrative, cultural and economic center with the main role in defensible position.
It was very important center and military base of the various leaders, because of the favorable strategic position.
Anyhow, Hum has experienced many changes, ups and downs, and in the 17th century burned to the foundations. But then, the town was renovated from the grounds and returned its amazing charm and historical character.

Town Svetvincenat is also called Savicenta or San Vincenti who is the patron of the town. The patron was Hispanic martyr St. Vicencije of the same named abbey and that was the beginning of the town growth and development. The Benedictines came, built the lodge and started to cultivate very fertile red soil. After they started to develop and expand farming, colonies of people started to come and inhabit the place.
Additionally, everything started to change and develop. People begun to built sacral buildings, and here long historical story begins. They built: Abbey and Parish Church in 12th century which has amazing wall frescoes of Istrian Romanesque cycle under the Byzantines cultural influence. The frescoes show the Bible scenes.
Moreover, other valuable mentioning is the Svetvincenat piazza with the Renaissance appearance. The piazza is surrounded with the towers, castle, palace, Parish Church of Lady Mary, town Loggia, the renaissance buildings and in the center the town, pit made of the carved stone.

Town Buje was raised up in the pre-history as the fortress. Because its favorable position, it was well known as the Istrian Guard. During the centuries, many nations fight for Buje and its fortification. But, in the 13th century, after German colony occupied Buje, the town receives the Status of Free Community.

Vodnjan has developed on the remains of the pre-historic fortifications. In the past was the urban town with the old heart protected by the stone walls. During the Roman period was documented as the town called Vicus Attinianum.
Its surrounding is wealthy with the Istrian traditional stone houses called Kazuni which are the historical monuments testifying the old tradition and culture of home people. The basic branches those people deal with where farming, agriculture, olive growing and vine yard.
The old town has preserved its old stone houses, narrow streets and old stone walls from the periods and styles like Gothic-Venetian and Baroque-Renaissance. Old town still has preserved the valuable monuments and buildings. One is the Gothic Palace of Duchy's Bettica, the iron decorations on the town pits, wooden carved doors of the Palaces and C hurch of St. Mary Karmela.

This very small settlement is consisted of few houses and Pavlin Monastery. The parish is mentioned and documented in the 12th century. The Monastery has the Church of St. Peter and St. Pavle made in the Baroque style. The Church holds the valuable things and objects like altars,
paintings, statues, organs, loggias and gild wall papers. All those things are made in the late Baroque style related to the cultural and religious belief.
The Monastery was built in the different time periods and styles like renaissance, romanism and baroque. Those styles influenced the late cognition. In the 15th century, Monastery was renovated in the Romanism style with the Baroque elements like the loggias, benches and other.
Later, in the 18th century, the Cluster of Monastery was redecorated and spread with the baroque elements. This leads to the conclusion that the Monastery complex was built up in many styles which is the evidence of its long history and tradition.
The Pavlin Monks came in Sv. Petar u Sumi to live in the Monastery and settled this place as the center of the Istrian-Littoral province. The Monks constituted the traditional regional school, which for the short time was the Philosophical College led by monks. That did not last long, but the school function stayed preserved and used.
In the late 18th century, the Monastery within the Monks was closed and revoked which brought them into the stage of fiasco. After 200 years, the Pavlin Monks returned in to the Sv. Petar u Sumi.
Till today, Monks live in the Monastery and still treasure and keep the tradition, belief and culture. Church keeps the valuable and miracle painting of Jasnogorska (Clear Mountain) Our Lady. That is the very popular miracle Icon which originally comes from the Poland where the most famous shrining Clear Mountain is. The painting is the most valuable monument of all.
In the Monastery are organized prayers, religious conversations and masses. Everyone is welcome to come and relax in this extremely peaceful place surrounded by the religious and historical spirits.
