Zadar is an ancient city and its cultural heritage can be found in every little corner of a town. In 15th century some parts were under the reign of Venice and some under the reign of Ottoman Empire. Šibenik was under the reign of Venice for 400 years as an autonomous urban commune. After the big epitemic of plague Šibenik gets under the reign of Austria and keeps the status of municipal center. After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy the town becomes a part of State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. After the World War II Šibenik was Croatia's federal political unit that was within a single state of Yugoslavia and had the communist social arrangement. The mid-60's years, becoming one of the centers of industrial production and a large Adriatic port. After the Croatian War for Independence Šibenik become a free town and it was created the foundation for its postwar development as a center of Sibenik-Knin County.
The best known and most valuable cultural monument of Šibenik is Šibenik Chatedral, protected as part of the World Heritage of UNESCO. The most important cultural monument in Šibenik is the Chatedral of St. James that was built for more then 100 years. The main reasons for the substitution on the World Heritage list of UNESCO are a unique blend of Gothic and Renaissance-style building and unique way of construction of large stone blocks.

Brass Orchestra of Šibenik's folk music is the oldest urban society that still operates, and as such it has made a large contribution in the Šibenik cultural life during the past two centuries. In its year-long history, music has made about 12,000 performances and to: 200 concerts, 4000 reveilles and ophodas the 6000 funerals and memorials.

First habitant of Split was a Roman emperor Diocletian who gave to build a palace on the teritory of today's Split where he wanted to spend quiet days after his deviation from the throne. The Diocletian Palace is the biggest and the best maintained late-antique palace in the entire world. Walls, 4 gates, emperor's mausoleum, corner towers, Temple of Jupiter and middle square - Peristil are kept 'til today and can be seen there.
In 7th century people started to populate the city more so soon the town starts to extend beyond the walls. Thorugh the 15th century Split become an important import-export port. After the reign of Venice, the rule of France came. After the fall of Napoleon Split belong to Austria. Until the end of the World War I entire Dalmatia was separated from the rest of Croatia, and after the war becomes a part of Yugoslavia. Today is a part of the Independent State of Croatia.
Cathedral of St. Duje, the patron saint of Split, was built in 7th century and it is placed in the emperor's mausoleum. In front of its entrance in the 12th century, was built a Romanesqu

Dubrovnik History and CultureDubrovnik was founded by refugees from the Roman city Epidaurum in 7th century. The town was for many years under the reign of Venice Republic, but after that it became an independent republic. The golden age for the Republic of Dubrovnik was in 16th century when Venice becomes weaker and Dubrovnik becomes the main trading port in the Adriatic. In 17th century a big earthquake ruined most of the city, but it managed to recover and kept their independence, but Napoleon in 19th century abolished the republic. Dubrovnik region was annexed to other parts of Dalmatia and Croatia and since then they share a common political destiny.
Center of the medieval Dubrovnik within the city walls is the main street Stradun. Luza Square is the most popular gathering place for tourists and the place where are held festivals, particularly the main cultural event Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
Franciscan Monastery was built after the big earthquake in Baroque style. As part of the monastery are located and picturesque Renaissance hall, librarie, music archives, the old pharmacy from the 14th century, and the rich treasure house with paintings, silver and gold artistic works of local and foreign masters.
Dominican Monastery possess many valuable pictures of Dubrovnik school of painting, sculptures and other items.
Benedictine monastery on the eastern side opens up great Gothic Distyle, and on the west you can visit the Renaissance cloister with the late Gothic details.
