Island Krk

The island of Krk is situated in the middle of Kvarner’s bay with the unusual differences of the relief made of picturesque bays, fertile fields, dense forests and part of the karsts. Krk has the long and rich history and traces of pre- Romanic and Illyrian civilization are visible in the name of the city K(u)R(y)K(ta), Kuryeta. During the time of Roman Empire Krk had become the municipal in the time when thermal baths were built which was decorated with the floor mosaic. The early appearance of the Christianity and the all shapes of Christian culture were visible in many sacral objects.
