Island Korcula

Island of Korčula is a middle Dalmatian island with many nice bays. The bigger places are Blato, Vela Luka and town Korčula. The town Korčula is the capital of island, surrounded with the walls and the defensive towers. It is birth place of world traveler and sailor Marko Polo, whose birth house is in the Old Town. The northern part of the coast is low and easy accessible with a few natural protected ports, while the southern part is more intended, but at some places steep. The climate is mild Mediterranean with the interesting cultural heritage and different sport- recreational and entertainment contents what had made this island into a attractive touristic destination.
