Description of Lighthouse Plocica - Blato
The lighthouse was built in 1887 on the islet of the same name in the middle of the Korcula Channel. It is 18 NM away from the island of Hvar to the east and 14 NM from Korcula to the west. The islet is a low plateau covered in grass and has an altitude of only 13 m. The building lies on the southern side of the islet that is covered in pine trees and tamarisks. Around the building, there is a large stone paved yard that is fenced. Access to the lighthouse by organized transfer. 4 NM from Prigradica, island of Korcula, 20 km from Vela Luka.
The lighthouse water supply is provided by its own cistern, while electricity is provided by a generator. The lighthouse is automated.There is a small docking area on the island.All provisions can be purchased in Vela Luka prior to departure or this can be done at extra charge by the captain who will be transferring the guests to the island.House pets are not allowed.
In front of the well kept berth for boats, there is a beach suitable also for small children. The surrounding waters are rich in fish. The islet is particularly attractive for underwater and sports fishing. Fishing and diving are permitted only with valid licenses. Boat rental price to be arranged with the lighthouse keeper.
Guests have 2 apartments at their disposal for 6 and 8 people.
